The apple device driver was never on my computer, however, I was able to install it after installing a program called 'Driver Update' for some reason when I downloaded the 'Apple mobile device driver' it did not install, but after downloading the driver update program, there was no problem and the file installed without a hitch.

What is Unplugged Device?

Unplugged Device, also known as non-present devices, is a kind of device that was physically removed from the computer but whose registry entries were not deleted. Once connected with a new USB Flash Drive, Windows will save its related information. When a device has been disconnected with the system, the remained information refers to an unplugged device. Other unplugged devices include Scanner, Printer, Android Devices and iOS Devices etc.

How to Check Unplugged Devices?

There are two methods to check unplugged devices on Windows. Let’s take Windows 10 as an example.

Method One: Check Unplugged Devices in Device Manager

  1. To open it on Windows 10, 8.1, or 8, right-click in the bottom-left corner of the screen or press Windows Key + X and select Device Manager. On Windows 7, press Windows Key + R, type devmgmt.msc into the Run dialog, and press Enter.
  2. Hard Drive Installation (via WinZip) with Setup.exe File Download 1.Click Download File to download the file. When the File Download window appears, click Save or Save this program to disk and click OK.
  3. In case there is no executable file in your downloads: run the Device Manager (run Command prompt, then type in and run command msc), find the needed device in the list. Right click on it and choose its Properties. Now switch to Driver tab and press Update Driver button.

Although some devices won’t display by default in Device Manager, you can still check those hidden devices with one more step, including unplugged devices.

1. Right-click the Windows Start button and choose “Device Manager”;

2. Click “view” and choose “show hidden devices”;

Then you will find some hidden devices in the list, which includes the unplugged devices.

Method Two: Check Unplugged Devices with a Driver Updater

1. Run driver updater - Driver Booster 6 beta, it will automatically scan and check the driver status;

2. After scanning, there will be a list of all available updates, the driver with a “” mark belongs to unplugged device driver.

How to Update Necessary Unplugged Device Drivers

Updating necessary unplugged device driver can make it better adapt to the system and run smoother. You can also update the unplugged device driver in Device Manager or use Driver Booster.

Method One: Update Unplugged Device Drivers in Device Manager

1. Right-click the relevant device and choose “update driver”;

2. Click “Search automatically for updated driver software”;

It will start searching for driver update online. If there is a new driver available, you can manually update it for better use.

Starting with Windows 8, the Windows operating system provides support via HID, for airplane mode radio management controls.

Architecture and overview

The objective of airplane mode is to allow the PC manufacturer to provide a button or switch (and potentially an LED to indicate status) that enables an end user to turn on/off all wireless controls in one shot. This primarily empowers a user who need to turn airplane mode on/off to do to so in a programmatic way allowing the operating system to (a) identify the status of switch and (b) control the various wireless radios via software.

Sample report descriptor

The following section provides sample report descriptors that PC Manufacturers must leverage. Please note that if the Top Level Collection is part of a report descriptor that already has another Top Level Collection, a Report ID MUST be included (not shown in samples below).

The following section provides additional information for PC manufacturers and identifies which report descriptor sample is most appropriate for their system design:

  • The stateless button is often use on keyboard consumer control buttons (either standalone or in conjunction with the Function button on many mobile systems (e.g. Fn+F5)).
  • The slider switch is often used on mobile systems with a physical slider on/off switch (e.g. laptops with an on airplane mode on/off switch).
  • The LED is often used as stand alone airplane more indicator or in conjunction with the either stateless button or slider switch. Window users do not need the use of this LED on mobile form factor systems as there is visual indication in the UI around airplane mode.

Troubleshooting common errors

Tip #1: When using a radio manager BUTTON, the PC manufacturer should send one HID report when the button is released and not when the button is pressed. This is because the toggle button is generally a relative input and not an absolute one.

Tip #2: Airplane Mode radio management HID usages only operate on Mobile systems (battery powered) and require Windows 8 or later versions of Windows.
